We’re
proud to say we’ve been chosen by several high-profile
companies
for their language needs. Allow us to present a brief sample of clients
for which we have worked, either in the past or in ongoing projects:
Herbalife International
The
Herbalife
Broadcast Network, part of Herbalife International of America, Inc., is
an ambitious project whose goal is to promote the company’s
product line and train its distributor base, using worldwide satellite
television broadcasts.
We
have been part of HBN since its first live broadcast, in 1994.
Currently,
there are weekly broadcasts in Europe, the Americas and several Asian
countries. We provide HBN with language consulting and simultaneous
interpretation in seven languages: Brazilian Portuguese, French,
Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and Thai. Occasionally, HBN
requests our services for other languages, such as Cantonese, German,
Italian or Russian.
Due
to the
deadlines inherent in television production, this project is the most
ambitious and laborious we’ve ever been involved with. On the
other hand, it’s incredibly rewarding: we enjoy an open and
friendly relationship with the HBN production team, while we get
constructive –often positive– feedback from the
different
audiences who watch their broadcasts around the world.
Fox Television
A
select team
from our Spanish interpreting staff was chosen by our partner SPG
Studios, in Burbank, CA, to provide Spanish SimulCast voice
interpreting for the syndicated Fox TV weekly show America’s
Most
Wanted. We worked on this project from September 1999 to May 2003.
The
production
and broadcast schedule for this crime-related program was a challenge
because of frequent last-minute updates and content changes. Working on
this project has helped us streamline the way in which the production
unit and our interpreting team share information and communicate; we
are now better equipped to undertake the same type of news-based,
fast-paced television show, with more accuracy and less lead time.
Paramount Television
From
1992 to 1995, even before the company existed, a group of our
interpreters provided the Spanish SimulCast voice interpreting for the
following syndicated Paramount TV daily shows:
Entertainment
Tonight
Hard Copy
The Arsenio
Hall Show
The Maury
Povich Show
Geraldo
These programs were interpreted into Spanish, live, for a national
audience. There were no chances to correct mistakes. For Entertainment
Tonight and Hard Copy,
the interpreters had the opportunity to work on a script before each
pre-taped broadcast. On other shows, such as The Arsenio
Hall Show or Geraldo,
however, the team had to work literally live, without knowing exactly
what to expect.
In Mr Hall’s show, humor was frequently part of the program,
posing an awesome challenge to the interpreters, testing both their
mental agility and knowledge of popular culture.
KMEX
We
are proud to note that the best members of our team have been chosen on
several occasions to serve as simultaneous interpreters during special
live television events, such as visits of Mexican President Vicente Fox
to the US, a townhall meeting in 2000 with then presidential candidate
George W. Bush, or the debate among several candidates to California
Governor, in the same year.
